But lately we'd been talking about how it's unfortunate that our promise rings don't actually match ... his is silver colored (steel), and mine is gold. And then he lost his promise ring.
Now, don't fret too much. I'm sure it's somewhere either at his little home or in my apartment (there are only a few places where he takes it off), but a search of these abodes brought no results. It'll turn up, but in the meantime he was left ring-less. And I have a problem with that. I like to mark my territory.
So we went ring shopping. And we found the most perfect rings. And I'm so excited. I'll share pictures later this week, I promise! :)
Now, I know you want wanderings. Here they are:
♥ This arrow seating chart from Ruffled idea is just so utterly non-traditional, and yet soooo swoon-worthy. Think Robin Hood meets wedding. Good, yes?
♥ Rock 'n Roll Bride featured a pretty awesome tutorial to make owl-shaped paper lanterns. I'm pretty sure you could use the same methods to make circular paper lanterns too.
♥ Want custom linens for your wedding? 100 Layer Cake has a great hand-painted table cloth tutorial this week! They look super cool.
♥ If you're like me and love the idea of DIY-ing everything, but don't know anything about flowers, the "bouquet recipes" on Wedding Chicks this week might be just the thing. Wedding Chicks featured a succulent bouquet recipe and an anemone bouquet recipe.
♥ Because it reminds me so much of how the northwest has the capacity to hold some of the coolest weddings, this DIY Washington wedding from Style Me Pretty is probably my favorite find this week.
♥ Need another cool Washington wedding? Check out this Olympia hoedown-style wedding from Wedding Chicks!
♥ And because Oregon is almost as cool as Washington (sorry Oregon ladies and gents, I'm a born & raised Washington girl!), and because this bride's home-made dress is INCREDIBLE, check out this vintage-inspired wedding on Ruffled.
♥ Apparently Missouri can be pretty cool too, because this couple on 100 Layer Cake had their wedding with 200 guests for $10K. That's cool stuff, dears.
♥ Everyone should take a trip over to Spokane Bride Blog right now to take a look not only at this absolutely stunning fall inspiration shoot, but also all of the posts this team puts together. I had a chance to chat with Dana and Kim last week, and they are just the sweetest, and they have so many great ideas!
♥ Okay. This wanderings post has a serious lack of yellow. And since we all know how much I LOVE yellow, here's my irresistible yellow dose of the day: a rustic yellow inspiration shoot on Wedding Chicks.
This is a new section this week. I realized while curating this week's wanderings that I've been neglecting an important piece of budget wedding internet resources: advice posts, rants about the wedding industry, and raves about how cool weddings can be.
♥ 100 Layer Cake posted this great guide to planning a budget wedding this week. Although I think there are a few things they left out, this post is a great read.
♥ And Chandra from Oh Lovely Day did an amazing rant post on why and how vintage is not dead. Not at all.
